With inflation at records highs and rising costs of materials,transportation and labour, affordability has become a significant issue with many Albertans across most every demographic. The unhoused, students, young singles and couples, seniors and extended care patients are all feeling the pressures of increased costs of living.
Our program
We will direct help where it is needed the most. The Alberta Party will:
• Deliver affordability payment to those that need it most including students, renters,families without children and singles.• Cutting taxes for low income Albertans by increasing the personal exemption for thosemaking less than $50,000• Increasing the support for those on income supports to ensure a living wage (indexed toinflation)• A long term commitment to invest in affordable housing in partnership with Municipal andFederal government• Lower the costs of post secondary and training by 50% over 5 years• Introduce a residential property tax credit• Repatriate the carbon Levy and distribute the proceeds back to Albertans• Reform the regulated rate for electricity and natural gas
