Our education systems is in shambles. Our public system is underfunded and lacks the resources to help our children succeed. At the same time, funding for private and charter schools has risen sharply.
Our program
We are committed to properly funded PUBLIC EDUCATION
• A freeze on funding for Private and Charter Schools• Adopt class size recommendations (k-3: 17, 4-6: 23, 7-9: 25, 10-12: 27)• Adopt a new funding model that responds to dynamic changes in classrooms• Resource preventative wellness programs for students and teachers• Fund access to mental health supports and therapy• Commit to identify learning challenges in pre-school children and properly fund the assistance required• Develop a province wide, priority based infrastructure plan for schools• In collaboration with stakeholders including teachers and students create a non-partisan curriculum based on best practices
